NOTE: You must sign up with a credit card processor before you can accept credit cards. Ricochet does not manufacture, sell or ship any hardware. Once registered and signed up, your processing company will facilitate sending you card swipe terminals and EMV chip readers, dependent on your agreement with them.
Additionally, if you choose to use a non-integrated payment processor, a separate monthly fee will apply to cover administrative and operational costs.
Integrated Credit Card Processing:
Integrated payment processing is a significantly quicker checkout process. Essentially, Ricochet "speaks" to your card reader terminal and captures the payment information needed; therefore saving you time from manual entry.

Steps for running an integrated credit card payment:
In Ricochet,
Click POS
Ring up items as you normally would
Click Credit Card
A prompt will display for you to use your EMV chip device, slide the card, tap or manually enter the card information (depending on your hardware setup)
Follow the prompts to process the card through the reader terminal
Click Finish to finalize the sale.
You should receive a message of either “Processed Successfully” or “Declined.”
NOTE: Please do not continue to swipe the card again if no message appears. This is likely due to a slow internet connection and swiping the card again may double charge the customer. If there is an error, contact us with the error message and clear your entire sale out.
Non-integrated Credit Card Processing:

Understanding the Non-Integrated Fee
If you choose to use a non-integrated payment processor instead of Ricochet’s integrated payment processing solution, a monthly non-integrated fee will apply. This fee is charged to cover the additional administrative and operational costs associated with non-integrated payment processing.
How is the Fee Billed?
The non-integrated fee is billed monthly to the card on file for your Ricochet account. This ensures a seamless and automated billing process.
Can I Avoid the Fee?
Yes, you can avoid the non-integrated fee by opting for Ricochet Pay, which is powered by Fullsteam. This fully integrated payment processing solution eliminates the need for the non-integrated fee. However, if you prefer to use your own payment processor, you can still do so as a non-integrated, standalone option, but the monthly fee will apply.
Steps for running a non-integrated credit card payment:
Note: Non-integrated payment processing requires a few more steps as the credit card reader cannot "speak" to Ricochet to feed information back and forth.
In Ricochet,
Click POS
Ring up items as you normally would
Click Credit Card
On your 3rd party, non-integrated device,
Follow their instructions for running the card on the 3rd party terminal reader
Make note of the following details:
Card Type (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc...)
Last 4 of card number
Authorization Code, if successful
In Ricochet,
A pop up prompt will be on the screen ready for you to input the data received from the 3rd party terminal reader.
Enter the following details captured into the pop up:
Card Type (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc...)
Last 4 of card number
Authorization Code
This is a text field for you to enter the auth code, but can also be used to enter a word/phrase for your reference
Click Finish to complete the sale.
