NOTE: You must sign up with a credit card processor before you can accept credit cards. Ricochet does not manufacture, sell or ship any hardware. Once registered and signed up, your processing company will facilitate sending you card swipe terminals and EMV chip readers, dependent on your agreement with them.

Integrated Credit Card Processing:

Integrated payment processing is a significantly quicker checkout process. Essentially, Ricochet "speaks" to your card reader terminal and captures the payment information needed; therefore saving you time from manual entry.

Steps for running an integrated credit card payment:

Ring up items as you normally would

- A prompt will display for you to use your EMV chip device, slide the card, tap or manually enter the card information (depending on your hardware setup)
- Follow the prompts to process the card through the reader terminal

Click Finish to finalize the sale.

1. Click POS
2. Ring up items as you normally would
3. Click Credit Card
 - A prompt will display for you to use your EMV chip device, slide the card, tap or manually enter the card information (depending on your hardware setup)
 - Follow the prompts to process the card through the reader terminal
4. Click Finish to finalize the sale.

You should receive a message of either “Processed Successfully” or “Declined.” 

NOTE: Please do not continue to swipe the card again if no message appears. This is likely due to a slow internet connection and swiping the card again may double charge the customer. If there is an error, contact us with the error message and clear your entire sale out.

Non-integrated Credit Card Processing:

Non-integrated payment processing requires a few more steps as the credit card reader cannot "speak" to Ricochet to feed information back and forth. 

Steps for running a non-integrated credit card payment:

1. Click POS
2. Ring up items as you normally would
3. Click Credit Card

On your 3rd party, non-integrated device,

Follow their instructions for running the card on the 3rd party terminal reader

1. Card Type (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc...)
2. Last 4 of card number
3. Authorization Code, if successful

2. Make note of the following details:
 1. Card Type (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc...)
 2. Last 4 of card number
 3. Authorization Code, if successful

A pop up prompt will be on the screen ready for you to input the data received from the 3rd party terminal reader.

Enter the following details captured into the pop up:

1. Card Type (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc...)
2. Last 4 of card number
3. Authorization Code
 - This is a text field for you to enter the auth code, but can also be used to enter a word/phrase for your reference

Click Finish to complete the sale.
