With Ricochet and Gravity Payments, there is no actual connection between your iPad and your EMV device.

Rather, the data is transferred via a live server and verified with Ricochet on the iPad. This gives you the ability to run sales and process credit cards from virtually anywhere in the US.

To run sales outside of your store, the EMV device still needs an internet connection. Either connect to a local WiFi network, or you can hotspot your phone or iPad to establish an internet connection.

As long as both devices are connected to the internet, you will be able to securely process credit cards.
