To build a simple form using the Ricochet Page Builder:

In Ricochet,

  1. Click Online Store.

  2. Click Pages.

  3. In the top left, select the page you want the form on, or click +Add New.

  4. Click the Basic & Extras sections to minimize each section on the right, or scroll down to access the Forms section.

  5. Click and drag the Form button to where you would like to input a form.

NOTE: Make sure you see a green line before dropping the icon. A yellow line indicates you're adding it to a pre-existing content box.

By default, the form includes fields titled Your Name, Email, Phone & Message.

EXAMPLE:

Expand the Settings section on the right side editor to further customize these fields.

Placeholder allows you to input sample text that helps prompt a user for the preferred format for that field.

Type allows you to determine if the field requires specific parameters, like numbers or letters. Email means the field has to have an @ symbol. **Refrain from selecting Password as this option currently will not speak to the back end.

Required enables you to require that field be completed before the form can be submitted.

You can also customize font, size, colors, etc...

To go back to your form options, click the four square icon in the top right of the page.

Examples of additional form sections commonly used:

  • Checkbox is often used to allow signing up for things like your newsletter, ads/promotions, or agree to terms.

    • Select the Checkbox itself to populate the Settings Menu on the right.

    • Give the Checklist a name. **You will want to keep this short, such as 'Newsletter', 'Opt-in', or 'Terms'. The Name field in Settings is a backend title for that checklist.

    • Select within the Label field to type over the text with the text you'd prefer.

      EXAMPLE:

*You can also designate the checkbox to be pre-checked.

  • List is often used to offer a drop down menu.

    • Select the List dropdown to populate the Settings Menu on the right.

    • Give the List a name. **You will want to keep this short, such as 'Style', 'Interests', or 'Agreement'. The Name field in Settings is a backend title for that list.

    • Delete the pre-existing text in the Options section and type your own drop down choices. Separate drop down options by line.

NOTE: The information submitted through your form will be sent to the email address attached to the store account, or the email that is showing under

Preferences > Admin > Store Details > Email.
