First, create an Analytics account.
NOTE: Google Analytics 4 (GA4-) is replacing Universal Analytics (UA-).
On July 1, 2023, standard Universal Analytics properties will stop processing new hits. You will be able to access your previously processed data in your Universal Analytics property for at least six months. Be sure to export your historical reports from Google during this time.
To switch to Google Analytics 4 scroll down for steps to create a property
In Admin, in the Account column, click Create Account.
Provide an account name. Configure the data-sharing settings to control which data you share with Google.
Click Next to add the first property to the account.
Second, create a Google Analytics 4 property:
From the 'Next' Step in Creating an Analytics Account,
Enter a name for the property (e.g. "My Business, Inc website")
Select the reporting time zone and currency.
Click Next.
Select your industry category and business size.

Third, add a data stream:
Click Web

Lastly, find your "G-" ID and paste it into the Google Analytics field in Ricochet
In Google, click Admin.
In the Property column, check that you have your new Google Analytics 4 property selected > click Data Streams > click Web > click the data stream.
NOTE: If you don't see a Data Streams option in the Property column, you are looking at a Universal Analytics property instead of the GA4 property that you just created. Use the property selector or Admin to navigate to your new GA4 property.
