Connecting a Zebra ZD411 Bluetooth Label Printer to an iPad

How to connect the Zebra ZD-411 Bluetooth label printer to your iPad POS.

!IMPORTANT!

Zebra ZD-411 Bluetooth printers must include a 'W' in the part number.

For example: ZD41022-D01W01EZ

To Connect the Zebra ZD411 Printer with your iPad:

On the iPad,

  1. Download the Ricochet POS app from the Apple App Store

  2. Go to General Settings

  3. Go to Bluetooth

  4. Make sure Bluetooth is toggled ON

Next,

  1. Download the Zebra Printer Setup Utility app from the Apple App Store.

  2. Plug in the Zebra ZD411 label printer

  3. Power On the Zebra ZD411 label printer

  4. Open the Zebra Printer Setup Utility app

    When you see a "Printer Setup" pop up,

  5. Select Allow for permissions

  6. Select Ok to use Bluetooth

  7. Select Discover Printers

  8. Select the Printer once it shows up (The serial number will display as the name and it will be Bluetooth LE)

  9. Select Pair (once paired it will show as 'Ready')

  10. Select Connectivity Settings

  11. Select Bluetooth

  12. Toggle on Discoverable

  13. Tap Next, (continue to tap Next until you have the option to apply changes)

  14. Tap Apply

    A pop-up will display advising to restart the printer,

  15. Select Cancel

  16. Close the app

  17. Manually power down the printer by pressing down the power button for a few seconds

  18. Power the printer back on

  19. Check Bluetooth Settings to make sure device is connected.

Last,

  1. Open the Ricochet POS app

  2. Click Preferences

  3. Click Mobile

  4. Input the Zebra's serial number into the box (find the printer's serial number on the bottom of the printer).

    The field automatically saves when filled.

    You now ought to be ready to print labels!
