A service busy message can mean various things:

  • The device is currently busy processing a payment

  • The device needs updated

  • The settings page on the Paygistix App is open

  • It is possible that two different Ricochet workstations are attempting to use the same device, such as two cashiers who share a single PINPad. If both users attempt to process a payment at the same time, this error occurs.

To Resolve A Service Busy Error:

On your Ricochet Pay - PayLink device,

  1. Press the Home button

  2. Select the Paygistix App

  3. If there is an end user license agreement, check the box

  4. Select Accept

  5. Select the Home button

  6. Select the PayLink App to reattempt

If the issue is not resolved, restart the device.

To Reboot Your Terminal:

  • If your device does not have a power button, simply unplug the device from the power source, wait 10 seconds, plug it back in.

  • If your device has a power button on the side of the terminal follow the steps below:

  1. Press and hold the power button

  2. When your screen presents options,

    Select Restart

  3. Select Restart again

  4. Device will show Rebooting

  5. Once restarted, select the PayLink App to reattempt
