NOTE:

You do not need to download drivers when using the ZD411 on a Mac as the appropriate drivers come pre-installed on the printer itself.

To Connect Your Zebra ZD411 Printer to Mac:

First, from the uppermost left corner on your Mac,

  1. Click the Apple icon

  2. Click System Settings

  3. Click Printers & Scanners

  4. Click the plus sign (+) and choose Add Printer or Scanner

A new pop-up window will show up

  1. Choose your Zebra Printer. It should be displayed as follows:

  2. In the USE section below, click Select Software

  3. You may choose your preferred driver's language. If you do not know which language to use, you may choose ZPL.

  4. The final setup should look like the example below. Click Add in the lower right corner to add the printer.

Next, set default label sizes in CUPS,

  1. Open a new tab in Google Chrome and go to localhost:631 (put it into your nav bar just like you were to go to any other website)

  2. One of two screens will show up. Either a menu titled CUPS will appear, or a screen saying "Web Interface is Disabled." If "Web Interface is Disabled" is displayed, proceed to step 3. If you can now see the CUPS menu, proceed to step 7.

  3. Copy the text "cupsctl WebInterface=yes"

  4. Open the Terminal application either by using the Finder, or by clicking the magnifying glass in the top right hand and searching for Terminal.

  5. Paste the text you copied from localhost directly into Terminal and press "enter"

  6. Go back to Chrome and refresh the page.

  7. Plug the label printer into the computer if you have not done so already. Select "Printers" from the primary menu in gray at the top.

  8. Click on the name hyperlink of your label printer.

  9. From the "Administration" drop down, select "Set Default Options."

  10. Under Media Size, select the appropriate label size you will be using.

  11. Click "Set Default Options" to confirm your settings.

Last, print a test label from Ricochet

Inside Ricochet,

  1. Click Products

  2. Click the check box to the left of an item you'd like to print a label for

  3. Click Print Labels

  4. Click Print from the Ricochet preview

  5. Within your computer's Print Preview, make sure the Zebra printer is selected in the destination drop down

  6. Click Print
