How to create a consignor account so they can view their account details.

Setting up a consignor account gives your consignors the ability to log in and view their current inventory, pending payouts, payout history, and update their contact information.

These consignors will not be able to add or edit their inventory; they will simply be able to view the details. If you want them to be able to add their own inventory, use the Is Vendor feature.


How To Create A Consignor Account:

In Ricochet,

  1. Click Accounts

  2. Click Consignors

  3. Click New Consignor

  4. Input consignor details, which must include the following:

    • First Name

    • Last Name

    • Email

      • The email address is a unique identifier in Ricochet, so an email address cannot be used for more than one profile. If a consignor will also be an employee, you would either add an alternate email or a dummy email for their employee profile.

    • User Name

      • We recommend that you copy the email address into the User Name field for a streamlined experience.

    • Password

      • Passwords are sensitive data and should not be shared.

      • Passwords are case sensitive.

        • PASSWORD REQUIREMENTS:

          • Minimum length:
            12 Characters

            At least one of each:

            Capital letters: A-Z
            Lowercase letters: a-z

            Numbers: 0-9
            Special characters: !-+

      • When creating a consignor for the FIRST time, an Automatic Consignor Credentials Email will be sent to the consignor, which includes a link to set their password.

        • For security purposes, this link expires after approximately 30 minutes.

        • If you would rather create a password for your consignors, simply turn off the Automatic Consignor Credentials Email function by going to Preferences > Admin > Under Store Details, Preferences, Toggle OFF Automatic Consignor Credentials Email > Click Save.

  5. Click Save


How To Log In As A Consignor:

  1. Go to your store's website or unique Ricochet URL, for example: https://yourstore.ricoconsign.com/login-do not click fake link-

  2. Enter Username (typically your email address)

  3. Enter Password

  4. Click Login

NOTE: If you don't remember your password, click the "Forgot your password?" reset link, or contact your store for help before reaching out to Ricochet. In most cases, a store admin can simply send you a password reset link or create a password on your behalf to fix your issue.


How To Reset A Consignor's Password:

If a consignor is having trouble signing in, an admin user can either click "Send Password Reset Email" for them to reset their password themselves or create a password on their behalf.

NOTE: Before changing credentials, it is advised that you check for common consignor login issues. These can include an outdated web browser or operating system, an outdated computer or device, or a bad internet connection.

In Ricochet,

  1. Click Accounts

  2. Click Consignors

  3. Click the edit pencil icon to the right of the consignor needing updating

    Under Account Details, in the Password field,

  4. Either click "Send Password Reset Email" or type over the stars with the new password, example: SuzyS123456789!

  5. Click Update
