Setting Up A Cash Drawer (Windows)

How to connect and set up a cash drawer on a Windows PC.

Ricochet supports most cash drawers that connect directly to a receipt printer using an RJ12 cable. We do not currently support USB cash drawers.

First,

Directly connect your cash drawer to the receipt printer using the RJ12 cable

  • RJ12 ports are located on the back of both the printer and the cash drawer

Next,

  1. Click on your Windows Icon or Search Icon in the lower left of your monitor

  2. Search and select Devices and Printers or Printers and Scanners

  3. Locate your Star TSP printer from your Printers list

    1. Select or right click the Star TSP printer

  4. Click Printer Properties

  5. Click the Device Settings tab

  6. Select the Peripheral Unit Type drop down.

  7. Select Cash Drawer

  8. Select the Peripheral Unit 1 drop down

  9. Select Document Top

  10. Click Apply

  11. Click Ok
