Setting Up A Star TSP Receipt Printer (Windows)

How to set up and test a Star TSP receipt printer on a Windows PC.

Setup your Star TSP printer on Windows PC. There will be a few different sections of the printer’s properties that will have repeated steps. Please read each step. Follow either the videos or the step by step guide below:

Step by Step Guide:

  1. Install your Star Printer using the provided CD or using the downloaded drivers.

  2. Click the Windows Search Tool or Go to Control Panel > Hardware

  3. Search Devices and Printers

  4. Locate your Star TSP printer

  5. Right click the Star Printer

  6. Select Printing Preferences

  7. Click Advanced

  8. Select Paper/Output section

  9. From the Paper Size drop down menu, Click and choose 72mm x Receipt

  10. Click Ok

    Close the open dialog window and go back to your list of printers on the Devices and Printers screen.

  11. Once again, Right click your Star Printer

  12. Select Printer Properties

  13. Click the Advanced TAB

  14. Click Printing Defaults from the bottom left corner of the screen

  15. Click Advanced button from the bottom right corner of the screen

  16. From the Paper Size drop down menu, Click and choose 72mm x Receipt

  17. Click Ok

    You be brought back to the screen where you selected the Advanced TAB from step 8.

  18. Click Device Settings

  19. Under the Form to Tray Assignment section, from the Friction drop down menu, choose 72mm x Receipt.

  20. Under Installable Options, from both Page Cut Type and Document Cut Type, section select Partial Cut

  21. Click Apply

  22. Click OK to complete the setup.
