Setting Up Commission Splits

How to properly set up commission splits for you and your consignors.

Commission splits are used to designate how you want the profits of sold consigned items to be split between your store and your consignors.

The software begins with a 100% Store split for retail or non-consigned inventory. There are common commission split types available for assigning to consignors, however, you can create as many commission splits as you would like.

For example, you may want a commission split that favors a larger percentage to your consignor for certain types of products, such as dining room furniture or designer handbags, because they might be more expensive or sell more frequently and regularly.

You can name splits however best fits your use case.


To set up and manage your store's commission splits:

In Ricochet,

  1. Click Preferences

  2. Click Admin

  3. Click the Commission Splits tab

  4. Edit, add or remove splits

    1. Click the yellow plus (+) sign to create a new split

    2. Type over existing text to edit preset splits

    3. Click the red X icon to delete a split

  5. Click Save.

NOTE:

  • Each split will need a Name with the Consignor and Store split percentages to equal 100%.

  • If you delete a split that is attached to items already, a pop up menu will appear that says “Split is used!!” and will ask you to assign a new split to those items.  You can assign a new split for those items and move them all if desired.

  • If you delete a split without assigning a replacement, all relevant products will default to Store Inventory (100% store split).
