Note:
Square must be your active payment processor for their gift cards to work in Ricochet. If you are not currently using Square, and would like to sign up, fill out this registration form to get started.
To Order Gift Cards:
Log into your Square Dashboard from a web browser on your computer, like Google Chrome, and you can purchase your gift cards online.
To Sell Gift Cards in Your Store:
In Ricochet,
Click POS
Click Gift Card at the top left of the screen. A prompt will appear with fields for the gift card number and balance.
With the card in-hand,
Scan the barcode on the back or enter the gift card ID number
Enter in the customer's preferred balance for the card
Click Apply.
You should now see the gift card balance due as an item on the POS.
Complete the transaction as usual.
To Redeem Gift Cards In Your Store:
In Ricochet,
Click POS
Scan or ring up shopping items, verify they are correct
Click Gift Card/Certificate
Scan the barcode on the back of the gift card or manually type the ID code.
Once valid, the card balance will be shown on the screen. *This is also a great way to check the balance of a card.
Click Apply
NOTE: If the customer only wants to use a portion of the gift card balance towards a purchase, update the Payment Amount before charging the gift card.
Complete payment for any remaining balance.
Click Finish
The gift card can be refilled and re-used at a later date if you or the customer would like to hold on to the card for later.
To Check the Balance of Gift Cards In Your Store:
In Ricochet,
Click POS
Click Gift Card (top left below Search Items field)
Scan the barcode on the back of the gift card or manually type the ID code.
Once valid, the card balance will be shown on the screen,
OR Click Check Balance.
