How to connect your Ricochet Pay - PayLink account, setup your device and test a transaction.

NOTE: You must sign up with Ricochet Pay as your credit card processor before you can accept credit cards. Ricochet does not manufacture, sell or ship any hardware. Once registered and signed up, your processing company will facilitate sending you card swipe terminals and EMV chip readers, dependent on your agreement with them.

Ricochet Pay - PayLink Device Setup

Your device may arrive preconfigured and ready to go. In the event it is not, follow the steps below.

On your Ricochet Pay - PayLink device,

  1. Connect device to internet (click here for steps)

  2. Select the PayLink application on the PINPad, you should be greeted by the default Admin/Employee login screen (Fig. 1).

  3. Select the three dots in the top-right corner of the screen to open the Settings Menu

  4. Enter your PayLink credentials (created when signing up) into the correct fields (Fig. 2)

  5. Add a location name to differentiate the PINPads in Ricochet POS.

  6. Check the checkbox to "Use as Credit Card Terminal (hide pay at the table login)"

  7. Select the “Advanced Settings” button at the bottom of the settings box.

    1. Make sure the PayLink Server is set to https://pay.link.

    2. All the other settings should be left as default.

  8. Select “Save changes”. At this point, you should see the terminal mode screen (Fig. 4).

Inside Ricochet,

  1. Click Preferences

  2. Click Admin

  3. Click the Ricochet Pay tab

  4. Enter your Username and Password (created when signing up for Ricochet Pay | PayLink)

  5. Click Connect


How To Run A Test Transaction:

In Ricochet,

  1. Click POS

  2. Add an item to the POS

    -or-

    Create a test product via Manual Sale (yellow button to the right of the search bar)

    • Enter item details, for example:

      • Product Name: "Test"

      • Charge Tax: Toggle OFF

      • Store Inventory: Toggle ON

      • Price: Input an amount as low as a penny ($.01)

    • Click Add Item

  3. Enter the Payment Amount

    NOTE: The total amount due should be auto-populated, only change this on a sale if the amount your customer needs to process on their credit card is different than the total balance due, such as half cash / half card payments.

  4. Click Credit/Debit

    • A prompt will display for you to use your EMV chip device, slide the card, tap or manually enter the card information (depending on your hardware setup)

    • Follow the prompts to process the card through the reader terminal

      • You should receive a message indicating either “Successful” or “Declined”

  5. Click Finish to finalize the sale.

NOTE: Please do not continue to swipe the card again if no message appears. This is likely due to a slow internet connection and swiping the card again may double charge the customer. If there is an error, contact us with the error message.

How To Sign Up For Ricochet Pay E-commerce Processing:

NOTE: You must sign up with Ricochet Pay as your credit card processor before you can accept credit cards online.

In Ricochet,

  1. Click Online Store

  2. Click Settings

    Under Payments,

  3. Click the 'Click Here' hyperlink to apply

  4. Read the Terms and complete the form prompts in the pop up

NOTE:

  • The username and password created here are different than your payment processing device login, so be sure to keep this information as you will need it once activated.

  • Email notifications are sent when your application is completed and approved. Once approved, WAIT until a Ricochet representative has contacted you to let you know that the e-commerce processing has been ACTIVATED before entering your credentials into Ricochet.


How To Connect Your ACTIVATED E-commerce Processing:

In Ricochet,

  1. Click Online Store

  2. Click Settings

    Under Payments,

  3. Input the username and password created when applying for e-commerce processing

  4. Click Enable
