Ricochet offers an optional fee that store owners can apply to all transactions.
This fee may be called a Program Fee, Application Fee, or Admin Fee, depending on your preference. It is not a surcharge and is designed to help offset administrative and operational costs associated with running the store.
How it works
This fee is:
Applied to all transactions regardless of payment method
Calculated as a percentage of the transaction total
Limited to a maximum of 3%
Once enabled, the fee is automatically added at the time of sale.
Important to know
This fee is not a credit card surcharge.
Credit card surcharges are fees added specifically for customers who pay with a credit card. These are subject to state regulations and card brand rules. Because of this, Ricochet does not offer surcharge-specific features.
We encourage store owners to research applicable laws and credit card terms before attempting to implement surcharges.
How this compares to Service Fees
This fee is similar to Service Fees, which are used to cover additional costs such as convenience or administrative expenses.
Unlike Service Fees, this fee:
Applies to every transaction automatically
Requires approval as part of payment processing setup or upon request
Is always percentage-based

To enable this fee, you must use Ricochet Pay, powered by Fullsteam. During the application process, indicate that you would like to incorporate this fee. Once approved, the fee will be applied automatically to all transactions.
