Payment devices can experience interruptions that risk stalling your checkout process. These may include a power surge, inconsistent internet connectivity, or some other interference of functionality. Additionally, there may be situations where you need to process payments away from the terminal or enable a manual entry mode proactively to address specific scenarios.

Fortunately, Ricochet provides multiple options to safeguard your process. These include manual credit card payments during device disconnections and other manual payment methods designed to ensure transaction continuity.

How To Run A Manual Credit Card Transaction:

In Ricochet,

  1. Click POS

  2. Ring up items as you normally would

  3. Click Credit/Debit

  4. A pop up will appear that reads β€œDevice Unreachable”

  5. Manually input card details:

    • Card Number

    • Expiration Date

    • Security Code (CVV)

    • Address

    • Zip Code

    • Click to Pay

  6. Verify payment shows complete on the Ricochet POS window

  7. Add customer (optional)

  8. Click FINISH to finalize sale

  9. Print, send or bypass Receipt

  1. On A35 Terminals, manual entry can be initiated by typing the card number directly through the device, which triggers the manual entry mode automatically.

If you pause typing midway, the manual entry screen may close, requiring a restart of the process.
